Meet the Principal
Dear St. Edith School Community,
My name is Ruth Scaramucci, and I am the new principal of St. Edith Catholic School! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and my Master of Arts in Educational Psychology and Graduate Certificates in Educational Assessment and Basic School Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
I have worked in the Archdiocese of Detroit for 14 years at St. Raphael in Garden City and Our Lady of Victory in Northville, teaching predominantly middle school. I am a 2019 graduate of the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Principal Formation Institute. For the past three years, I have served as the curriculum director and middle school learning center teacher at Our Lady of Victory. I am blessed to have the opportunity to lead this school community! Be on the lookout for some changes to the website and handbooks this summer.
I am looking forward to bringing a wealth of knowledge and curriculum to St. Edith, where I have been a parishioner. I live in Livonia with my husband, David, my two children, Luke and Rachel, and my big orange cat, Leo. If you are an 8:30 Mass regular, chances are you have met my family and me! When I am not working, I enjoy reading, watching sports, watching my kids play sports, and soaking up the summer sunshine by the pool. Have a great rest of the school year, and I cannot wait to meet you all over the coming months!
Your Partner in Education,
Mrs. Ruth Scaramucci
